The Glasgow four piece The Cinematics are an intriguing gang of lads with influences ranging from he Smahsing Pumpkins to the Talking Heads, to The Smiths and Jeff Buckley. The band have a diverse taste in music which in turn makes their sound interesting, but easily accessible.

After 2 years of practicing and gigging the band have now signed a deal with the good people at TVT Records and are taking their music to a new level! They have just recorded their first single "Chase", produced by Stephen Hague (Blur, New Order), and are scheduled to release a full LP in 2006.

We gave "Chase" music video by The Cinematics a listen and yeah, we like it. Let's see if it will 'grow' on us. (November, 2005) Remember: oldie but goodie. Like wine, some songs get better due time. Is this one of them or was it just a one-day wonder?
