The Offspring have been in the studio working on their new album "Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace" for over a year with producer Bob Rock (of Metallica fame). Almost five years has passed since they released their last studio album, "Splinter ."
The band hasn't revealed too much about the record, only saying: " think all our albums are relevant to punk when they were created, and this one will be no different." Every song on the band's eighth studio album delivers.

The single, "Hammerhead," will be available for free download at MusicRemedy (no registration) and also at the revamped www.offspring.com beginning May 5 (you need to register to download), the same day that the song is officially released to radio. A special gatefold vinyl edition of the album with access to a free download of the album will be released alongside the traditional CD and download.
Drummer Atom Willard left The Offspring to focus on Angels & Airwaves and was replaced by Pete Parada (Saves The Day, Alkaline Trio, Face To Face) last summer. He made his live debut with the band at Japan's Summer Sonic festival in August. Josh Freese (The Vandals, A Perfect Circle) had been laying down drum tracks in the studio for the forthcoming album, which the band worked on in Hawaii with Bob Rock and in their hometown of Huntington Beach, California. The band consist of:
Dexter Holland (vocals, guitar), Noodles (guitar), Greg K (bass) and Pete Parada (drums).
The band has sold more than 32 million copies of their seven albums prior to the 2005 release of "Greatest Hits", which included "Come Out And Play (Keep 'Em Separated)," "Self Esteem," "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)" and "Why Don't You Get A Job?".
Their 1994 release "Smash," which more than a decade after its release remains the highest-selling album of all time on an independent label.
The Offspring will play the 91XX-FEST IN San Diego, CA on May 16th, KRQQ-Weenie Roast in Irvine,CA on May 17th and will headline Santa Barbara, CA radio station KJEE's Summer Round Up on Sunday, May 18th at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Pennywise will also perform.
Their Single "Hammerhead" (Columbia) impacts Alternative on May 6th.
