August 12, 2008 marks the official street date of the “Goldenshire Boogie” 7” but the single will be available earlier at live shows. Goldenshire marks the next stage in The Subject’s writing and will be the first official evidence of their next record, to be recorded at Key Club in Benton Harbor, MI. Other records to come out of this studio include The Kills, David Vandevelve, Fiery Furnaces among others. The band expects an early 2009 release of their sophomore effort.
Since their debut release in February 2007, The Subects have experienced extremely positive press from Spin, Daytrotter, The Onion, Magnet, Zink among others. "Our songwriting has really matured. On this new record, we are focusing heavily on giving the instruments space and on solid vocal harmonies throughout the songs," explains guitarist Joe Smith. They are also featured in an MTV special focusing on indie bands that will be airing on MTV2 this summer. With everything coming together Summer 2008, The Subjects are eager to finish their new record, hit the road and join a record label that shares their excitement for the music.
We are still enjoying "Goldenshire Boogie" music video by The Subjects (a Thumbs Up!) although its been over three months since its been released (July, 2008). Why not? Songs don't get old, they get better.
Ahh look a song which should have received more attention. A pity...
