Truth Enola burst onto the scene in 1996 when he was featured (“Pony Ride”) on De La Soul’s critically acclaimed LP Stakes is High.

Alongside another up-and-coming artist of the time, Mos Def, Truth’s smooth voice and edgy lyrics also would go on to appear on the Jay Dee produced remix to De La’s title track. Truth’s working relationship with De La Soul dates back to 1995 and he dropped his first official single, “Mayday,” on Maseo’s Bear Mountain Records imprint. He also toured with the group for three-years.

Truth Enola’s long-awaited debut, 6 O’Clock Straight, will be released on September 7th on Solid Records and the LP features stellar production from De La Soul, Da Beatminerz, DJ Spinna, Kutmasta Kurt, Geology and guest appearances from De La Soul (“Voicetress”) and fellow Native Tongue representative Phife Dawg (“How Its Gonna Be”).
