This past September marked the 11-year anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s (still unsolved) murder. Since his unfortunate demise there have been 17 albums (six studio, eleven compilation) released under his name, each a combination of previously heard or unheard material. Those numbers, which were calculated to include this December’s two-part release, The Best of Pac, are indicative of the highest-selling rap artist of all-time. The second disc of the release, Life, contains one of two never before heard songs: Dopefiend’s Diner. The record is Pac’s take on Suzanne Vega’s original, Tom’s Diner, and although it was recorded many years ago Pac is still able to breathe life into the currently diluted industry. The album release is clearly intended to make money, but it’s also a reminder of how much Pac is truly missed.

This joint have received some well deserved attention but didnot make it to the top. A pity...
