Vue sound like San Francisco, rattling and shaking around like maracas in the fog. A town with gold bridges and dirty streets finally has a band that's ready to remind people of its history. They're young, skinny, wild-eyed and quite certainly experienced. Vue stomp and wail, bringing the garage to the table unafraid to lace it with psychedelia and the remnants of the gutter they've dragged with them from the underground.

Like the city they call home, there is a mystique about Vue that deepens, rather than dissipates, with familiarity. This is more than perhaps some of the best rock and roll to grace our ears in years. Vue blend the raw immediacy of punk with the enigmatic depths of psychedelia, a bit of new wave glitter and the desolate passion of the blues into an archetypal musical fusion that recalls the best of rock's moments while remaining uniquely of our time. This is a band that embraces its dark side, is not afraid to please a crowd yet caters to no genre's specific criteria. Vue's music is sophisticated, sexy and hard, hard hitting.

Having just completed their RCA debut "Babies Are For Petting"--a five song EP with tracks produced by Don Was, Davy Vain and Vue at the Bay Area's Groove Room--Vue are now gearing up to record their first full-length effort for the label. These are by no means however, Vue's first forays into the recording studio.

Vue have been together since 1999, when after a few name and lineup combinations and permutations, keyboardist Jessica Graves joined childhood friends Rex Shelverton (vocals/guitar), Jonah Buffa (guitar), Jeremy Bringetto (bass) and Rafael Orlin (drums). They spent the next three years touring the states in a trashed van, sleeping on strangers' floors, borrowing money to eat and playing in any decrepit club/bar/basement that would lend them a stage. They recorded an EP for Gold Standard Laboratories, and two LPs and a maxi single for Sub Pop. They went from playing to ten audience members in an all ages club under an overpass to bringing down the house at Reading and Leeds festivals in the U.K..

Vue already have a four record discography, countless U.S. tours, and four European treks to their credit. They've played with White Stripes, The Donnas, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, ...The Trail of Dead and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. They were awarded Album of the Year by Sweden's premier music newspaper Aftonbladet. Their videos have been played on M2 and they have appeared on MTV Canada's TRL. Vue songs are on over half-a-dozen respected compilation records, including the gold-selling The Sopranos--Peppers and Eggs: Music from the HBO Series. These are no small accomplishments for any band, and are even more impressive considering they were achieved with no assistance from a major label. Now that assistance is here in the form of a passionate commitment from RCA, Vue's future is very bright indeed.
