Wild Light 'Adult Nights' album

Wild Light win “Outstanding Rock Act of the Year” at the 2008 Boston Music Awards, only furthering the excitement and anticipation for the release of their debut album Adult Nights, out March 3rd, 2009 on StarTime International. Taking place this past Sunday, December 7th, Wild Light won the award in a category whose nominees included A.K.A.C.O.D., Bang Camaro, Great Bandini, Helms, Hooray For Earth, and Viva Viva. This win comes at the end of a highly productive 2008, and sets the tone of what looks like an extremely busy 2009 for Wild Light. Beginning January 15th, in Omaha, Nebraska, the band will head out on their first ever US National Tour with Tapes ‘N Tapes, which will take them thru 29 cities across the US.

Wild Light was formed in 2005 by four childhood friends from New Hampshire – guitarist Jordan Alexander, keyboarders and bassists Seth Pitman and Tim Kyle and drummer Seth Kasper. Since then, the band has quickly been climbing the ranks of the indie-music realm, performing with numerous notable artists including The Gutter Twins, MGMT and LCD Soundsystem. The group also went out on a Fall 2007 tour of Europe and the UK, in addition to playing select US dates, with Arcade Fire (a group in which Tim Kyle was a founding member).

Adult Nights was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck, Guided By Voices), and features 13 original tracks co-written by all the members. Catch the band when they perform at a city near you on their upcoming tour.

New Hampshire four-piece Wild Light announce release of their debut album – Adult Nights – out March 3rd, 2009 on StarTime International. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck, Guided By Voices), the album features 13 original tracks co-written by all four members. The result is classic Americana pop that sweeps over you with distinct vocal harmonies complimented by warm and dynamic arrangements. The songs reflect the timeless American spirit, whether it be the fall foliage, changing of the seasons, or a summer day at the lake. Rooted in the New Hampshire motto of “Live Free or Die,” the album addresses an unknown but open future for Wild Light – a theme constant in the life of many today.

The four childhood friends of Wild Light - guitarist Jordan Alexander, keyboarders and bassists Seth Pitman and Tim Kile and drummer Seth Kasper – officially formed as a band in Spring of 2005. The band started playing shows around Boston and New York and the buzz surrounding them quickly began to spread. Before they knew it, they found themselves playing sets to packed crowds at the Levi’s Fader Fort at SXSW, the Hollywood Bowl and Randall’s Island with LCD Soundsystem, Les Savy Fav, Blonde Redhead and The Arcade Fire, a band which shares a unique connection to Wild Light due to Tim being one of the group’s founding members and both Jordan and Tim and Kasper being longtime friends of frontman Win Butler. Avid supporters and fans of Wild Light, The Arcade Fire tapped Wild Light to play select dates with them around the US, and perform as the opening act on tour in UK and Europe. Since then, Wild Light has shared the stage with numerous bands including Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, MGMT, and Clinic, and also toured with The Stills and Ambulance LTD.

Now, StarTime International, the label that introduced the world to The French Kicks and The Walkmen, will release Adult Nights in March of 2009, and Wild Light will join the label’s illustrious roster of artists which includes Peter, Bjorn and John and Does It Offend You, Yeah?
