Windimoto's first single, "Don't Let Me Leave Alone" began as an instrumental dance track with an aggressive Latin drumbeat, a booming disco base line and thick, dramatic chords. Inspired by the vivacious beat and grooving bass line, newcomer Victor St. Clair wrote the lyrics and provided his soothing R&B vocals to take the song to the next level.
