Biography
Formed as high school kids in Jacksonville, Florida and named after their favorite drinking game, dynamic power-punkers YELLOWCARD soon outgrew their hometown and spread their wings for Southern California, where they’ve already staked their claim on a new coast and are now setting their sites on the rest of the world.
YELLOWCARD, who meld numerous and sometimes surprising styles – hardcore, melodic, at times acoustic -- cut their teeth on the 2002 Warped Tour, where they were undoubtedly the only punk band with a violinist, and will return for this year’s edition of the tour.
After a launchpad of a debut album (2001’s One for the Kids) and a beloved follow-up EP (2002’s The Underdog EP), YELLOWCARD will release their Capitol Records debut, Ocean Avenue, later this summer. The album was produced by Neal Avron (New Found Glory, Everclear) and mixed by the renowned Tom Lord-Alge.
The band has already shared the stage with bands including No Use For A Name, The Ataris, Homegrown, Sugarcult, and home-state heroes Less Than Jake. And earlier this year the band performed numerous free shows at high schools across the country. Preceding this summer's Warped Tour will be an overseas club tour hitting Japan and Australia, and as a subsequent U.S. tour with veteran punkers Lagwagon.
Yellowcard is:
Ryan Key - vocals, guitars
Sean Mackin - violin, vocals
Ben Harper - guitar
Longineu "LP" Parsons - drums
